Do you have a band or artist that you don’t necessarily consider to be amongst your favorites of all time, but that every time you listen to them, you realize how much you love them? Drop a comment below and let me know which one is it!
💽 » The Million Masks Of God, by Manchester Orchestra
alternative rock • 11 songs • 46 minutes
The Million Masks Of God is the sixth studio album from American indie/alternative-rock band Manchester Orchestra and one of their best to date.
Although their sound didn’t change all that much over the years, this recent release really feels like they continue to perfect what they do best: indie rock with incredibly beautiful arrangements, progressive elements, a distinctive vocal style, and lyrics full of great storytelling.
The album title derives from "Gold Leaves", an early poem by G. K. Chesterton that details the narrator's shifting relationship with God as he ages.
🎶 » Comum, by ÀVUÀ
ÀVUÀ is a Brazilian duo formed by Bruna Black and Jota.pê, and their single Comum, here performed at the great project A Colors Show, is a delicious mix of Brazilian popular music with soul and modern electronic production. So far the duo has only singles available for streaming, but a full-length album is on the way and I can’t wait!
🎶 » Lost In The World, by Kanye West ft. Bon Iver
In a recent issue of Run Out Grooves, a unique newsletter that features the last track of an album, I was reminded not only about this great Kanye West and Bon Iver track, but also what an incredible album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy continues to be, probably my favorite of his. Call him megalomaniac, crazy, arrogant, whatever you want, but this extended video featuring many of the album’s songs is amazing.
