Sometimes I Might Be Introvert 🙈
Shuffle Sundays #36 • Fleet Foxes, Kacey Musgraves, Nandi Bushell, ABBA, KangHee Kim & more!
Hello and welcome to Shuffle Sundays, a weekly newsletter with music recommendations to help you find your next obsession.
This week we’re listening to one of my favorite albums of last year, getting teased by the new record from the country-pop sensation of 2018, witness an incredible performance by an 11-year old bad-ass drummer, feeling inspired by dreamlike fictional photographs, checking out some new music released this past week, and more. Enjoy the read!

💽 » Fleet Foxes - Shore
indie-folk • 15 songs • 54 minutes
Shore is the 4th studio album of Seattle-based indie-folk band Fleet Foxes, which also may be their most accessible one, being the perfect choice for someone to start listening to them. Even Robin Pecknold (vocals, guitar) describes the album as (2017’s) Crack-Up’s friendly brother. Shore is definitely a “sunny” record, but it also works perfectly on a cloudy day. “I’m trying to celebrate life in a time of death, trying to find something to hold on to that exists outside of time, something that feels solid or stable”, Pecknold says. In my personal opinion, the album delivers all of that and much more. It was one of my favorites of last year, with Going-to-the-Sun Road being the cherry on top, featuring beautiful vocals of O Terno’s Tim Bernardes.

📺 » Kacey Musgraves - star-crossed / justified
Golden Hour had a lot of elements that could have had me fallen in love with Kacey Musgraves as much as everybody else, but for some reason one of the best albums of 2018 didn’t really grab me (yet). On the other hand, everything so far about her upcoming album Star-Crossed (out next week) has gotten me very excited, especially when I heard that her influences include Bill Withers, Daft Punk, Sade, The Eagles, and Weezer.

📺 » Nandi Bushell + Foo Fighters - Everlong
Nandi Bushell is an incredible 11 (!!!) years old drummer who, after posting several great covers on YouTube, got to virtually battle against the one and only Dave Grohl, from the Foo Fighters. Fast forward to last week, when she finally not only met the Foos in person but joined the band on stage to perform their mega-hit Everlong. Watching the video gave me goosebumps, and if this doesn’t put a least a big smile on your face, there’s something really wrong with you.
