Shuffle Sundays #26 • Bon Iver, Uncle Frank, The Imagineering Story, Social Media, Black Pumas, Blacksneakers, and more!
Hello and welcome to Shuffle Sundays, a weekly curated list of content I thought was worth sharing with more people.
This week we are celebrating 10 years of one of my favorite albums of all time, embark on a road trip with lots of self-reflection, learn about one of the coolest professions in the world, get inspired by amazing art, and much more. Enjoy the read!

🎶 Bon Iver, self-titled
{something to listen to • album, 39 minutes}
10 years ago, Bon Iver (one of the many projects of Justin Vernon) released its second album, self-titled, and put the band on everybody’s radar.
Continuing the path started with their previous release (“For Emma, Forever Ago”, 2007), the sophomore album sees the band revisiting its folk roots while experimenting with many other elements, constructing a work of art that would inspire many artists to come and serve as the base for even more experimentations throughout the following releases. Although you may still recognize folk as the base genre, Bon Iver is just so much more than that, from the many layers of synthesizers to the beautiful saxophone melodies, to Justin’s almost hypnotic singing voice.
If you are still skeptical about everything I just said, do yourself a favor and check out this incredible performance at Radio City Music Hall1 a while back:

🎬 Uncle Frank
{something to watch • movie, 95 minutes}
Written and directed by Allan Ball2, Uncle Frank follows the story of Frank Bledsoe and his niece Beth on a road trip, from NYC to South Carolina, to attend a family funeral.
Besides the family emergency, the trip is also an opportunity for Frank to fight his old demons and finally confront his own family regarding his personal life. With great performances by Paul Bettany (Frank) and Sophia Lillis (Beth), the film has a very relatable story on many different levels, way beyond sexuality, so don’t let that discourage you from watching it. It’s an equally heartbreaking and heartwarming journey.
📺 The Imagineering Story
{something to watch • tv-series, 6 episodes}
What if I told you that there are some people out there being paid to have ideas for creating, designing, and constructing all the Disney theme parks and attractions worldwide?
The Imagineering Story is a 6-part documentary series that tells the story behind all the famous Disney attractions that you already know or may have no idea existed. It will take you behind the scenes of the everyday lives of some of the most creative and inspiring people out there while giving you access to a lot of details and interesting information about all the different projects surrounding the Disney empire. It’s a must-watch for any Disney fans or theme park enthusiasts!
