💽 » Leon Bridges - Gold-Diggers Sound
In Gold-Diggers Sound, Leon Bridges continues the path he created in his debut album Coming Home (2015). But while getting inspiration from the same ‘50s and ‘60s sounds that brought him recognition, his third full-length record comes with a much more modern finish, bringing Bridges much closer to his contemporaries.
I had extremely high expectations for this album since I listened to the first single ‘Motorbike’ (shared on SS #21) a couple of months ago, and not only Gold-Diggers Sound is better than I was expecting, but it’s now one of my favorite albums of 2021.

📺 » James Blake - Say What You Will
Say What You Will is the first single of James Blake’s upcoming album, Friends That Break Your Heart, out on September 10. In his own words: “The song is about finding peace with who you are and where you’re at regardless of how well other people seem to be doing”. The music video, starring Finneas, illustrates the message by following Blake in different situations, always in the shadow of someone apparently more popular than him. In a world where social media gave people the false idea of having a large audience, comparison can be everybody’s worst enemy.

🔥 » Something to get Excited About
If you only know director Peter Jackson for his (incredible) effort in bringing The Lord of The Rings trilogy to the big screen, you may not know of his talents for documentaries — please stop everything and go watch They Shall Not Grow Old (2018). That being said, how not to get excited when you hear that he’s putting out a 6-hours documentary on the greatest band of all time? ‘The Beatles: Get Back’ will be a 3 part series, premiering on Disney+ on November 25th. Get ready!

⚡️ » Something to Inspire
Jake Wangner is a Texas-based fine art photographer, whose work is best classified as abstract expressionism. I especially love the work he did for Jack Garratt’s 2020 album Love, Death & Dancing. Check out his website or Instagram for more. Here are some favorites:
