Even though the title is “Summer of Soul” I think it would be a mistake to not include important Hip-Hop artists at this modern concert project. Kendrick Lamar comes to mind. Little Simz, Vince Staples. And maybe Public Enemy could reform for the show! And the original concert had some Latin and African artists there so I think that’s an approach that should be duplicated. Not to spread the concept too thin.
When I saw Alabama Shakes in here I was really hoping it was for a new album announcement, but alas... Still, looking forward to listening to the new Yeah Yeah Yeahs single. Thanks Leo!
Another excellent issue! I look forward to this every Sunday!
thank you, my friend! That means a lot!
Can't believe that Alabama Shakes hit was nine years ago.
Right?? Crazy!

You're absolutely right, Steve! I can totally see a whole day dedicated to hip-hop, old and new! Little Simz would be a great addition too!
I’m digging the Yeahs new single!
Me too! Big expectations after two great singles, so far!
Ah I’ve only heard one of them. Will go look for the other one too!

Between Brittany's solo career and recent issues with their drummer, I'm not sure a new album will happen so soon... but I'd love that too!!
Danger Mouse and Black Thought feels like a combo that can't miss!
I'm also curious to hear the album from Panda Bear & Sonic Boom, another cool combo!
This week's Visual Inspiration is absolutely lit! 🔥
Thanks, Nikhil! Love to hear that!
Cheat Codes is a really good album
It is! Still digging through, but enjoying it so far!
