DOMi & JD BECK reminds me of a niche Japanese instrumental band called "Mouse on the Keys". Definitely worth a listen, Leo!

I love Mouse on the Keys, especially their 2018 album 'Tres'!

Was impressed by DOMi and Beck, Leo! I'd be curious to see (and hear) how they'd play in a more traditional song-structure (or, at least in a song at, say, 3+ minutes long). I'll also be adding them to my shopping list....I must stop by IKEA and buy the poor dears some furniture! Their rehearsal space just appears so stark and empty! And, maybe an inexpensive painting or two?🎅

Glad you liked it, Brad! And as Steve pointed out bellow, there are many different flavors on the album. I thought that this short instrumental track was a good way to introduce them, but you’ll definitely find much more in there!

I don’t know if it’s a traditional structure, but there are shorter songs and songs with vocals in a more soul-vein than the jazzier stuff. I’m wondering if the songs with vocals that don’t list a guest vocalist are DOMi or Beck singing. It’s great that Thundercat and Anderson .Paak plays with them on a few songs! Even Snoop Dogg. I feel super late to the cool party, but not in a fashionable sense.

More Monday discovering! Okay, I'm up for it (or down for it....whatever the kids are doing these days)!

Don’t feel bad, they were completely new to me until a couple of months ago too! :)

I think we kids call that empty space "minimalist" 😅
